Leslie 820i to 147 Conversion

  • First
It starts with a nearly pristine cabinet.
The 820 and a working Wurlitzer were
$95 at a Catholic charities store. The
Wurlizter was donated to a church.
  • Second
The original Rotosonic setup. Speakers are in a housing that rotates. A stationary speaker with a rotating horn sounds much better.
  • Third
The 820 speakers are driven by solid-state logic, but we like vacuum tubes as their sound is superior.
  • Fourth
Out with the old, and in with even older.
  • Fifth
Amp, speakers, horn, and bass rotor, from a 147, are installed.
